Big Victory for Jiu Jitz: Jarare Scores Submission in Strikeforce Debut.

We don't talk much about MMA here at DSTRYRsg, but I have to point out Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza's victory in Strikeforce tonight.

Jacare is, in my opinion, one of of the top 5 pound-for-pound grapplers in the world and a true grappling legend. He's a 2-time Mundial open-class champion and ADCC champ. He's also fought in Japan's 2008 DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix (notably, losing to via upkick KO to Gergard Mousasi in finals). But, I believe he's still widely unknown to American MMA fans.

Tonight Jacare showed the world some jiu jitsu against journeyman, Matt Lindland, winning with an arm-triangle choke in round one. Prior to that he showed some great technique, controlling Lindland with the omo plata.

It's great to see a true Brazilian jiu jitsu champion, like Jacare, debut so well for an American audience. Way to go Jacare! DSTRYRsg salutes you!
