I’m a huge Fedor Emelianenko fan and am looking forward to his next fight against “Bigfoot” Silva at Strikeforce.  The Russian “Last Emperor” has a lot to prove after his surprising loss to Fabricio Werdum some months ago, and if he’s worth his salt as a fighter, he should be in top form for the Strikeforce tournament.  In this latest interview, Fedor speaks about his thoughts on the Werdum loss and his future bout against another Brazilian fighter.

Unfortunately, I can’t understand a word he’s saying in this video.  I don’t speak Russian.

I’m told, however, Fedor and his trainers describe: some injuries before the match against Fabricio that affected Emelianenko’s performance; his lack of a strategy against Silva; Bigfoot’s weaknesses as a fighter as well as Fedor’s diet and training regimen.
If any Russian speakers can confirm this I’d appreciate it.  Fedor’s a very articulate and well-spoken man, and I’m curious as to what the heck he’s talking about.

Whatever the case, though, I always enjoy watching training video of my favorite fighters so I can try to copy their form during my own workouts.  In this video, you can watch Fedor train, eat, and get a massage from some guy.  Click away and enjoy.

  1. description is right on the spot. Injuries his trainer is speaking about, are broken hands - after Rogers fight.

  2. Man, you want it - you get it. Here you can find my amateur Ru-Eng translation of the spot:
