WE ALWAYS HATED THE FIREMAN'S CARRY, BUT THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE.

Everything sounds more sophisticated and classy with a European accent.  Case in point, our Danish buddy, Christian Graugart's (ShogunHQ.com) excellent demonstration below of  the classic fireman's carry.  I vividly recall hating this takedown during my competitive high school wrestling years.  It is, however, a classic and effective takedown once mastered.  In retrospect, I think hated it because I was no good at it.

What's great about this video demo is that it's done in a gi scenario, which has unique elements to it (namely grips that don't apply in no-gi or collegiate wrestling).  Further, I really like the way Christian separates the steps, giving you a method to drill and perfect the technique (more detail is always better).

Christian is a BJJ coach and competitor and has been a staple in BJJ blogosphere (I can't believe I used that term) for many years now.  This is one of many (and the most recent) of his contributions to the BJJ community (via video demos, articles, etc.).
