WATCH THE FOX NEWS PUFF PIECE ON BJJ THAT WE ALL MISSED.

Last week the Fox local news in San Diego aired a fitness story about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  It featured Joao Faria, a 2nd degree black belt under Macaco and Flavio Behring, and an instructor at Royler Gracie Academy, San Diego.  Joao's also a No Gi World and Pan American Champion.

Now, as far of puff pieces, this one is about as mushy as your closed guard (i.e., extremely).  It's kind of like the piece you saw a few months ago that convinced you to sign up for Zumba.  We're glad you didn't do that.  It also features all the goofy antics and slapstick befitting a local news segment.

Corny?  Cheesy? For sure.  But, hey.  It's promoting BJJ and, for that, we praise it. Check it out:

  2. pretty gay that they gave him a blue belt... a lot of blue belts out there worked pretty damn hard to get their own, and a lot of white belts have yet to get theirs

  3. You sure he isn't already a blue belt there? He doesn't look totally clueless.

  4. He actually hit a pretty good hip toss. The transition to armbar wasn't too noobish either.
