As my dad used to say "There is a time and place for everything," and a beautifully made highlight video of the 2011 IBJJF Houston Open is not the place for country/blues. Some people might hate me right now (especially the guys at DraculinoTeamTX) but come on, really? Something is definitely wrong if I need to hit mute while watching a grappling highlight. Yah Mo B There would have even pumped me up more than this song. Regardless of my musical tastes (and love of Celine Dion) we highly recommend hitting the play button and watching this great video, but keep your finger on the mute button just in case.

  1. Hiya,
The brown belt landing the sweep in the title picture goes to my bjj school. I was wondering if you could throw me a link to where you got the picture so I can snag it for him? Thak you.

  2. Look at that, small world isn't it. Props to your boy for the sick sweep. I did this little trick, click on 720HD in the youtube video, hit fullscreen, take a screen shot. Boom!

  3. My name is POPPA ROTZEE, I made DraculinoTeamTx youtube channel and all the videos. I'm sorry you don't like the music. The three songs are from the "Dusk till Dawn" soundtrack and your the only person who didn't like it.

I guess I'll take 100 likes for one dislike :P The blues song had a fun, good feel to it, as did the tournament and mingling of the crowd. I like the beat and the mood of the other songs, but they were hardly what I would call "Blues" music....maybe you should of unmuted it later on in the video.

Anyway, I use music of ALL genres from Rage against the machine to even a country song once that EVERYONE said they were surprised that it worked with the video, but that it nailed it.

You have to be more open minded and realize I have a large audience and I like to try music from all genres, because all offer something to be appreciated and invoke different moods.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video, at least visually and I'm happy to let you use it on your site, despite the double edged recommendation for it you offer.

  4. Poppa Rotzee:

We apologize for being insensitive, brother. We know you worked hard on this and we appreciate your work. We just kid a lot around here.

We all share the same passion for and dedication to Jiu Jitsu, and we should have acknowledged that in the post.

If it makes a difference, I grew up listening to a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan (because of my dad), and I love his work. Plus, I realize he's from TX.

Thanks for allowing us to post this.

No problem, I wasn't that bother by it..But I was up kind of late, working on another video that was frustrating me and I was also sore from training a two a day after being a month off from a herniated disc in my neck....So I was a little annoyed lol.

Thanks for posting the video and for guys run a quality site here and I'm glad I found my video on it because I will now be a regular reader.
