MORE BJJ BASICS YOU MUST MASTER: OMOPLATA HIP BUMP SWEEP.
Grapplers, watch Nakayama Tetsu of Triforce Japan (an Alliance affiliate) as he properly breaks down the effective, yet underutilized, omoplata bump sweep. This technique not only works, it oftentimes catches your opponent off-guard (no pun intended).
It's a good alternative to the traditional omoplata sweep and works well as a counter to your opponent posturing during your armbar attack. If you hit it correctly and bump your hips through, your momentum will knock your opponent over and you'll wind up in side control. Then you can execute an illegal belt choke, and yell "How's that for your first day of class, whitebelt! I learned that on DSTRYR/sg bitch!"
