THE WRESTLING SCRAMBLE THAT LOOKS LIKE JIU JITZ TO US.

Years ago, before I started training jiu jitsu, I fancied myself a wrestler because I had wrestled back in high school and had a pretty decent record. But, now my wrestling skills are about as competitive as my breakdancing and/or blacksmithing skills (which is to say, not paricularly competitive).

Moreover, wrestling, has evolved so much over the years, it often time looks more like submission grappling without the submissions (plus all that near fall, pinning stuff). If you follow DSTRYR/sg, you know we are down with the guys at flowrestling. Check out their latest featured scramble (John Greisheimer of Pitt versus Donnie Tasser of Edinboro). This one is very submission grappling-esque.  Serious game to say the least.

  1. Am I the only one who kept waiting for someone to go for a knee bar while watching this?

  2. If you watched Askren's collegiate career, he always had epic scrambles. In fact, he fight just like he wrestles. Takes someone down and just holds them there
