JUDO: WATCH USA'S TRAVIS STEVENS GRIND IT OUT IN UNORTHODOX FASHION.
There is nothing I find more disheartening in grappling than knowing what your opponent is going to do, but have no ability to stop it. It's that kind of grinding and absolute control that is only acquired through talent, time and practice.
We admire grappling in all of its aspects including the beauty of off-balancing found in the sport of Judo. But, that's not the type of technique employed in this match. No. Travis Stevens (USA) gives Lukasz Blach (POL) a nasty, face-grinding turnover that would make even the strongest judoka give up position (Grand Prix Rotterdam, December 2010).
