UFC ON VERSUS 3 AND BRIAN BOWLES: HAIR HELMET? CHECK. GNARLY GUILLOTINE.? CHECK.

 Bowles v. Page:

We've been informed Brian Bowles just signed a contract to distribute a non-habit forming sleeping aid - his guillotine. Thank you.  We'll be here all week.

Despite his hairstyle choice, Bowles is a badass.  He doesn't have to counter off of a half-ass double leg to sink his guillotine.  Instead he uses his incredible speed and timing.  In the case of last night's fight, he had Damacio Page sleeping within 5 seconds of the catch (and perhaps dreaming of frolicking through the forest with Diego Sanchez).

Bowles is already  known for his nasty neck game.  It's no coincidence that the first Bowles v. Damacio WEC fight ended the same way and in the same round (i.e., via guillotine).

The choke was set up off a scramble while Bowles was on top. If you look closely, you'll see he had his hands in place the moment Damacio started to get up.  Very exact timing and worthy of a comparison to the 2008 Nogueira guillotine on Silvia (UFC 81).

  1. Does anyone know if Klay Pittman's is a legit place to train?

  2. This is why I keep my head up at all times. I was a Judoka before I joined so I never adopted the head first rush mentality that some of us grapplers develop.

I am not saying my method is best but it has saved me from a lot of guillotines.
