You may think that BJJ is all about choking fools unconscious, but I think it's just as much about friendship. Sure, there's lots of choking and armbarring and face grinding and joint carnage. And yeah, that's the good stuff.
But, the reality is, if your doing it right, your building bonds along the way that last a lifetime. Check out this great technique from one of my oldest brothers in the sport, Chris Lisciandro owner/head coach at BJJC/Street Sports (Sherman Oaks, CA). Chris and I go way back to our days as blue belts over 10 years ago.
This is a solid bread-n-butter technique. It's relatively easy to master after a good amount of practice and it's readily available. Plus, there's nothing as demoralizing as a nice finish using your opponent's own gi tail.
