Ok, we already know Stephan Kesting could kick our ass if we ever confronted him in a random parking lot. In this video Stephan continues his street self defense series with a tutorial and explanation of defending the front headlock. Stephan not only shows us the technique step-by-step, he also gives a thorough explanation of the why and how of it all. Take notes people, and practice this.
I love his stuff brother. When I began training 4years ago I almost quit due to claustrophobia, his website has a whole section devoted to claustrophobia and grappling. I have sent him emails thanking him, I would have given up if I didnt know that resource. Its something I have managed to work on and fix.
The whole head lock thing just made me laugh...When I first started BJJ there was a guy in my school that had been doing to longer than I already. I was very new, but I still new the basic rules, scoring, positions, and submissions. While sparring he put another student in a headlock, or a half nelson or something, and the second he got it he let go and yelled "that's it I win". So now every time I hear a about head locks, or new guys in the school throw one, you will always hear someone yell, "that's it I win!". Still makes me laugh!
