BE ONE OF THE COOL KIDS WITH THIS CLAUDIO CALASANS SWEEP FROM SITTING GUARD.

Being of the cool kids is definitely better than being the kid who gets thrown in a school locker and left for dead or the who gets attacked by wanna be gang bangers and is forced to use his deadly martial arts skills to survive and/or save the lives of others.  I may or may not be combining my own personal experiences with the plot-lines of movies I've seen.  Or, am I?

Claudio Calasans is one of the big dogs in the world of elite grapplers.  He's garnered well earned acclaim (plenty from us) since coming on strong at 2010 World Pro and Worlds (and almost dethroning Marcelo G).  This year he hasn't been quite as successful, but the Atos team member is still one of the world's best.

Check out Claudio's tricky sweep from a seated open guard.  I personally hate being on the receiving end of any rolling sweep.  It rarely happens to me, but it's about as shameful as submitting to the omo plata or clock choke (don't ever do that).  Great sweep.  Never get caught in this, grappler.

Sidenote:  This technique was filmed in what I can only describe as the loneliest and saddest academy/gym I've seen in years.

  1. Awesome as it is smooth. Looks like it has some applicability from a failed single-leg too..
