BILL COOPER GETS THE SUB IN HIS STRIKEFORCE DEBUT. WE EXPECTED NOTHING LESS.

Yeah, we sing the praise of the young Bill "The Grill" Cooper 'round here.  Why?  He's a homegrown SoCal BJJ black belt (Paragon BJJ) who competes at the very highest level on the world's stage in jiu jitz.  As if that wasn't enough, he's got a style and pace all his own and it's a great thing to behold on the mat.  We've said this.  You know this.

But, Bill stepped it up bigtime this past weekend,  entering the cage to compete in pro MMA for only the 2nd time - this time at Strikeforce Challengers.  That's basically the "big leagues," especially now that Strikeforce is owned by ZUFFA/UFC.

Not much of a story here.  Bill took this fight on very short notice and showed up in a huge way to defeat Maka Watson via RNC sub in Round 2.  When I heard about this match up, I expected this result.  Maka is a grappler as well, but in no way on the level as Bill.

Here's to Bill Cooper - the kid's got a big future in MMA ahead of him.

  1. Any chance of getting the video up? If so, find the JZ one also if you could. Thanks
