CHOKES INSIDE OF OTHER TRIANGLE CHOKES, SAY WHAT?

A choke wrapped inside of another choke is like a delicious pork product wrapped in a golden flaky crust. Now imagine replacing the pork product with an endangered animal, like the Yeti. To say the least, this combination of amazingness is a rare oddity. It's almost as amazing as a double rainbow or an 8,000 pound lasagna. That's why today we give you a choke wrapped within a triangle choke brought to us by the guys over at Street MMA Gear.

  1. Good one. Think I've seen that one in one of Matt Thornton's old SBGi instructionals.

  3. I like the straight arm lock from triangle ala Werdum.

  4. A guillotine from triangle control = win

  5. I'm a bit of a triangle specialist (i.e., I relied on them almost exclusively for many, many years - to my detriment, probably)

From triangle position, there are many great finishes, including the straight armbar, reverse arm bar (opp side), keylock-style wristlock, and kimura. I've had success with all of these, including many in competition.

  6. Triangles are hard not to rely on. So many ways to get it. Plus, inverted triangles look cool.
