THE NORTH-SOUTH CHOKE, ROBERT DRYSDALE STYLE. BECAUSE EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THIS SUMISSION.

Seriously.  This North-South Choke is the most popular kid in school (in a world where BJJ techniques go to school, that is).  If you aren't doing it on a daily basis in combination with your modified De La Riva sweeps and 50/50 stall methods, you are not hanging with the cool kids.  Don't be left out.  Stay up on the trends.  The fads.  That's what it's all about.  You probably wear a gold weave gi too and I'll bet it doesn't even have "contrast" stitching.  That's so 2007.  It's embarrassing.

If you're not aware, Robert Drysdale is on e of the best in the world.  If he's explaining his version of a submission, I'm listening carefully.  You should too.  This N-S choke is great - it's effective and usually very available.  It does have plenty of nuance though - that is to say you could be in position and attempt it, but fail to get the tap (i.e., because the choke is not properly aligned on the throat).  So work on it.

Now go adorn yourself in paper thin ripstop material, get a fauhawk and practice this move.

Props as always to GrapplerINFO for another great video.
