A COBRINHA-STYLE GUARD RECOVERY DRILL FOR THE INVERTED.

I'm going to guess how this post will work for you.  You're going to watch the video below of Cobrinha showing his students a drill to recover guard when inverted and think or say something like this "We do that at my academy."  Maybe you'll roll your eyes and feel kind of superior for about 10 seconds.  Then, you'll watch the video again and think or say something like "Goddam, that Cobrinha is coordinated and fast.  And, I am so very slow and clumsy."  You won't feel so superior.  You'll feel kind of sad knowing he's so smooth, so graceful.

I'm just kidding, grappler.  Just giving you a little ribbing.  I know you'll appreciate this little tidbit.  It's all good.  It's no surprise Cobrinha's got insane dexterity and poise.  We can all aspire to be this good.  Maybe some of his skills will rub off on you when you watch.  If you still feel bad, take comfort in the fact that you're not the one wearing a fauxhawk.

Train jitz!

  4. It's more like if you grow a faux hawk you better be able to move like that if you want to get away with that haircut.
