When I look back on my years at UCLA, I realize I should perhaps have spent more time actually studying and less time drinking (cheap) beer, playing video games and falling asleep in class.  When I distill it down the core issue, I find it was likely my overall aversion toward reading and maybe even learning things in general that held me back.  Like any normal person, I blame my parents and pesticides (and possibly, the terrorists) for my less than impressive GPA.

I think you get what I'm driving at, grappler.  Education.  It's pretty important.  And it applies to fighters just the same.  DSTRYR/SG is committed to all forms of higher education, and that's why we proudly sponsor the U of MMA - an amateur MMA promotion here in SoCal.  If you're in or around the area, we encourage you attend.  Here's an amazing and rare gogoplata finish from a recent U of MMA event, which conveniently occurred right over our magnificent logo.

U of MMA is putting on some more great fights this weekend.  Check out the details below.  And, be sure to watch the bouts on U of MMA's YouTube channel.

  1. No affiliation with the University of Jiu Jitsu? Which school runs a better football program? :P
