GIFTS FOR GRAPPLERS: MARCELO GARCIA'S "ADVANCED BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU."

We'll be hitting you up with a some good ideas over the next few days.  Here's something from Middle Easy's Jason Nawara:

Advanced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Marcelo Garcia

Marcelo Garcia is back to drop knowledge on all of our heads in his latest technique guide and it's a book no grappler should be without this holiday. With over 2,000 step by step color photos and an emphasis on Marcelo's system exclusively, this 336 page, full color guide makes the wise choice to eschew the common techniques taught in your local school and decides to focus on Marcelo's favorite tried and true techniques from a variety of positions. This book will not leave your chosen grappling reading zone, this much I promise you.

From the simple single leg takedown to attacking the guard and sinking in that second hook, this was a painstakingly and lovingly crafted book. A slow clap for Marcelo Garcia with Marshal D. Carper and Glen Cordoza. A slow clap.

  1. picked this up the other day and it's awesome.

highlights: all of marcelo's paths to back control, rncs, guillotines, guard opens, open guard and half guard passes, and his arm drags.

great finite details for classic techniques that work for gi and no gi alike
