YAMA YACK-A-LOCK, THAT'S WHAT HE SAID.

Call the shoulder lock what you will, but most of you grapplers know it as the Kimura lock. It has other aliases such as the figure four, double wrist lock, and the chicken wing. So regardless of what you call this style of shoulder lock, mechanically they all work the same. Check out two really cool variations from the guys over at Yamasaki BJJ - affectionately known as the Yack-a-lock. These unorthodox Kimuras are sure to confuse and frustrate your opponents, so check it out and try it out.

  1. Actually, not from Yamasaki.

    that's Mike Yackulic, from Arashi Do in edmonton, AB, Canada, a black belt under Sylvio Behring.

    yackulic-->yack-a-lock.

  2. I'm going to try that second set up this weekend. It looks pretty high percentage, as long as you can get over the legs.
