Growing up I watched an unreasonable amount of Television. Yes, I was active and participated in sports, but nothing could quite replace my love of Television. Growing up I would watch almost anything, and there were very few shows I would avoid. I remember waking up early and watching X-men on the weekends. At night I would tune into Family Matters, Sister Sister and Mr. Cooper. I loved all those shows, they were funny, entertaining and fueled my desire for more TV. Actually now that I look back at it, it seems like I had an affinity for black comedy at a young age.
Anyway Hanging with Mr. Cooper took place in Oakland, California, with Mark Curry (Mr. Cooper) as an NBA player-turned-substitute teacher/gym coach. Coop is a somewhat awkward yet suave single guy, that often finds himself in funny predicaments. If you haven't seen it maybe something is wrong with you. Just look at this cast: Mark Curry, Holly Robinson Peete, Nell Carter, Raven-Symoné, Omar Gooding, and Don Cheadle. I know I'm excited too, where else can you find that kind of cast of C list celebrities nowadays.
Now, onto the real Mr. Cooper. Stuart Cooper is a buddy of ours, who as most of you know, makes some sick BJJ videos. Mr. Cooper is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt under Professor Lucio”Lagarto” Rodrigues in the UK. After graduating film school Stuart followed his passions which have lead him to be one of the premiere producers in the game. He has created some great film shorts and documentaries with the worlds best in BJJ/MMA including Gunnar Nelson, Jeff Monson, Ryan Hall, Lucio Lagarto Rodrigues, Kyra Gracie, Braulio Estima, Roger Gracie, Robson Moura, Rousimar Palhares, Rafael Dos Anjos, Dean Lister and the Mendes Brothers. Check out Stuarts newest piece about the Legendary Mario Sperry. Ze Mario talks about his passion, ADCC and about currently training with the Blackzilians in Florida.
