The rules are pretty simple. You beat a man at his own game, we give you props. If that man is Rousimar Palhares and the game is "Watch Me Disable Your Kneecap," then you get big ol' giant props. And, it doesn't even matter that you have a large-sized Johnny Cash portrait of questionable quality tattooed on your shoulder.
Alan Belcher had one of the best performances of his career several weeks ago at UFC on Fox 3, successfully defending Palhares' leglock attempts and eventually TKOing Toquinho in Round 1. I honestly always thought of Belcher as a kickboxer, and wasn't even aware of his extensive BJJ background (he's a black belt under Helio Soneca). He showed great skill on the ground in this fight. Check out this teaser video in which Belcher goes over a few tips to defending the heel hook from 50/50. It was made to promote a free webinar he's doing TODAY at 8:30 ET. You can sign up here.
