"THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE TRIANGLE CHOKES THERE ARE TO BE HAD FROM CLOSED GUARD."

Another fine quote from Helio Gracie himself.  Again, don't get technical on me.  I may be paraphrasing, but I know he said this.  Or, at least I'm relatively certain.

You could argue that BJJ has been evolving rapidly over the past several years.  The causes are many, but certainly the Internet and evolution of what is now the pro-BJJ athlete have played a part in that.  Innovations seem to be occurring at an unusually high rate, which makes a lot of grapplers feel the need to stay current.  But, as illustrated in the video below from the folks at BishopBJJ.com, as much as things appear to have changed, there are many elements of BJJ (probably the majority) that remain constant.  Effective techniques for takedowns, sweeps, armbars, chokes, triangles, for the most part, are tried and true.  It's just a reminder to us that the fundamental, core techniques are as effective today as they were 10 or even 20 years ago.

I say all that, and, at the same time, dare you to submit me with a closed guard collar choke.  Just try it.
