MIX UP YOUR GAME WITH SOME CEMENT.

One of the most underutilized positions or techniques in BJJ are offensive turnovers. Why? Well sport-wise we have grown accustomed to hunting for the collar or the hooks. Some would even venture to say that these techniques are almost foreign to BJJ players. But take a close look at BJJ's other family members - Wrestling, Judo, Sambo and Jiu Jitsu all utilize turnovers to establish both control and pins. We may not have the latter, but the much neglected turnover allows us to reverse a neutral position, win points, and sets up attacks from side control or mount. So open up that little mind of yours and start learning some varied attacks from freestyle wrestling.

Check out acclaimed wrestler Jason Layton www.JasonLayton.com and his detailed tutorial on the cement mixer.

  1. sound cuts out about halfway through. though this is even more usefull if someone has a gi on, you can easily grab the collar if you dont grab your own forearm
