Much like us, many of you grappler's out there are the "Better Times" or the "Old Days"
Jiu Jitsu existed in a day where you couldn't just walk to your nearest academy - you had to drive two hours to the nearest Blue Belt. De la Riva was an actually person that was world famous for his grappling and not just the name of inverted, upside down, and reverse sweeps using your your opponents tiny mind against himself. Not all of us had the money or opportunity to just walk into a place and trane UFC - our experience came through replicating Keith Hackney Hulk smashing his opponents balls in our living rooms. But as you all know times have changed. Much like Moore's Law jiu jitsu technology is continually evolving and changing. If you don't keep up with the latest trends they may just pass you by.
Kevin Howell (Andre Galvao/ATOS Black Belt) is a thinking man's jiu-jitsu player. He's written numerous books on jiu-jitsu with some of the top names in the sport, including Saulo Ribeiro, Dave Camarillo, Andre Galvao, and an upcoming book with Leo Vieira. Having had the experience of working so closely with such great champions, and being a political scientist as well, has helped form many of his theories on jiu-jitsu.
