Ah, the young grappling mindset of this era of BJJ. So taken, dare I say, smitten by clever inversion and berimbolistic movement. To think, the grapplers of just a few years ago knew almost nothing of bolo-ing and the like. But, we're in the here and now. And, everybody's doing it.
At the same time, many of the technique we use today, has been practiced for many, many years. Case-in-point, the age-old inverted spin applied as a means of defense to avoid one's guard from being passed. It's as good a technique now as it ever was. And, even though Rafa Mendes puts his own "spin" on it, it's basically the same maneuver guys like Jean Jacques were doing back in the day when they the open guard game was developed.
You want to learn to spin your way out of danger? Why not learn from one of the best inverted guard players the world of grappling has seen to date. Spin!
