SORRY, WE HAVE REPLACED YOUR ZUMBA CLASS WITH SAMBO CONDITIONING, SO SUCK IT UP.
Your conditioning is the one factor you have complete control over in combat sports. Training is important, but technique means nothing if you gas after a minute. It's a fact that an inferior team with better conditioning often has the advantage over a more skilled team. We have all seen it, whether it's in MMA, grappling, soccer or boxing - it effects all sports.
The Russians have been at the forefront of sports performance for decades now, and they continue to push the boundaries in of human potential. That's why when we see Sambo master Vadim Kolganov doing a grueling 15 minute workout without breathing hard - we know that adding in some S&C to our workout will without a doubt help improve our mat game.
Samboist, Vadim Kolganov, shows us how real men do strength and conditioning, which for him includes jump squats, the sandbag and kettlebells. And don't take Vadim lightly, he is a kettlebell sport Master Instructor, bronze medalist at the World Masters Sambo Championships in 2005 and was British Sambo Champion in 2006. So get off your ass and pick something up besides the remote or your half gallon Big Gulp.
