Ok, grappler. We're talking about Chris f*cking Brennan, and we really should have to say much more than that. But, we will. If you don't have roots in the So Cal grappling game dating back 10 years plus, and aren't an MMA historian, you may not know the man. That changes now.
Chris Brennan aka "The Westside Strangler" has been involved in BJJ since way back in the mid-90's, when he started training under Royce at Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Torrance. Since then he's a built a career as an instructor and fighter. He's had a long career in MMA dating back to 1996, with a fights in the UFC's first lightweight tournament (in 1998). The guy is legit and has serious no-gi grappling skills as demonstrated in the clinic he put son in the video below.
Check him out versus Bellator fighter, Toby Imada at a local tournament in Austin (the WGC 2013 Austin Open). Props to the always excellent, Mike Calimbas for the video.
Oh yeah. And, Chris turns 42 tomorrow. It doesn't seem as though he got the memo about "grappling over 40" though. He just does the damned thing the way it's supposed to be done. Stay strong, grapplers.
