OK, grapplers. You know us. We don't kiss [that much] ass or hype stuff that's clearly whack. No. We're the ones that support mullets and hate grapplers who spend more time talking about gis than battling their teammates on the mats to improve their skills (the only thing that matters). We support grapplers wearing shirts, whenever possible. We think BJJ students should learn to perfect the art of the simple sweep before they even attempt the art of the bermbolo instructional. I guess we're saying we know a thing or two. And, Metamoris is some pretty cool sh*t and we thank the Grappling Gods for it.
Sadly, for months we feared Metamoris III would not come to be. I don't know the details, but I know it was touch and go to some degree. But, it's on now and we're stoked. You can criticize the outcomes in the first 2 events all you want, but our opinion is clear - this event is exactly what BJJ and submission grappling need and it shares many of our goals as well. We've always endeavored to elevate our sport by glorifying its pros and elite competitors and the events they compete in. We've striven to foster greater recognition for Jiu Jitsu and submission grappling. Who knows if we've accomplished any of that, but Metamoris does that. Watch Ralek Gracie's passionate statement below; we think it will encourage you to support this event (and to watch it live).
Note: The live stream for this event, which takes place March 29,2014, is only $10 if you buy before January 31. You spend more on your scrapbooking supplies and/or your pet Yorkie's oufits.
