BATTLES: 2014 WPJJC ABSOLUTE. A THING OF BEAUTY.

Anybody who loves Jiu Jitsu loves the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu Jitsu Championship (not to be confused with ADCC, another excellent pro tournament out of UAE).  The reason is simple - the event bringsout the very best professional BJJ athletes and we get to see them compete.  It's that simple.  It's also amazing to see that Jiu Jitsu spans the globe in popularity and reach.

Below are some of the matches from the black belt absolute division.  Yes, Buchecha won the gold (deservedly so), but that doesn't begin to tell the whole story.  There were many kickass performances.  We are most impressed with Keenan Cornelius, who has developed into one of the very best pound-for-pound grappling athletes in the world, able to go toe-to-toe (or grip-to-grip or bolo-to-bolo) with anyone or any size.  Braulio Estima also kicked plenty of ass, despite losing to Keenan (he beat Keenan in their weight division).  Overall, there were many awesome performances by many badass athletes.
